About Librarian Capital

Investment Style

  • Invest for the long term, with the bulk of expected returns generated by earnings growth and/or dividends, not re-ratings

  • Look for a double-digit annualised return for each stock; aim to never lose money on any investment

  • Minimal portfolio turnover, and no attempt at timing the market

Target Universe

  • Global developed markets, but with concentration in the U.S. and the U.K.; mostly large and mid caps

  • Focus on “quality” businesses with high recurring revenues, strong franchises and low technology risks

  • Avoid loss-making companies, cyclical industries and most turnaround situations

Process & Portfolio Construction

  • Proprietary desktop research using publicly-available reports and new sources; no sell-side

  • Publish research on Substack and Twitter to formalise output and solicit opposing views

  • 15-25 holdings, but tracking up to 50 stocks including related companies and long-term opportunities
